Futur industridesign AB develops entire concepts for new products and business ideas, designs mass-produced products, furniture, packaging and designs graphic work such as pictograms and operating instructions, teaches design and decoration and writes interior design articles.
In 1997 Sofie Sjöström (the owner of the company) was awarded first prize as the best graduating student within design in Sweden and started the company Futur industridesign.In 2000 Futur industridesign won the SAS design competition for designing SAS business and economy class seats.
In 2001 Futur industridesign received the Utmärkt Svensk Form award for the mobile phone accessory T-hook, a handsfree device for the hard of hearing.
In 2004 Sofie Sjöström was one of the members of the jury for the spring exhibition Formbart at Liljevalchs konsthall.
In 2008 Sofie Sjöström had her first book published "Indoor Projects - create smart solutions"
In 2009 the company is launching a new brand name Sofie SjöströmTM and marketing a collection of textiles for open layouts at Formex 15-18 January
